When was the last System Refresh done in an SAP system?

To quickly check when your DEV/QA system was refreshed from a production box perform the following steps:

  1. Execute the transaction SCCL
  2. Fill in the Source Clinet filed [ie: 001]
  3. Select <Goto> <Log display> from the main menu

You should see a screen with a list of dates of when the system was last refreshed.

Other useful transactions:

SCC9: client copy – copy a client

SCC8: client export

SCC7: client import

SCC1: copy as per transport request

Hi, what is the use of refreshing a SAP System ?
I’m student and working for part time in a firm as an end-user to learn SAP.
When i hit SCCL transaction i receive “Target client is productive and protected against clicent copy” error..So i can not check our system.
    Best~

    Hi,

In an ideal scenario you want to have your DEV/QA environment identical to your production system.

One reason to refresh your DEV/QA environment form your production box is to make sure you have an up to date snapshot of your live data.

The closer your DEV/QA is to PROD boxes the more accurate you can be with your testing and future development assumptions.

In your scenario: your production box should never be refreshed because it’s live data.
