Photos & Keywords

I’ve been uploading photographs for quite some time now and every time I have to come up with a list of potential keywords that describe the image. Obviously the better I describe the image the more people will get to see it. So here are some helpful ideas that you can use to describe your art work:

  • What is it?
  • What is the image about?
  • What is it doing?
  • How does it feel?
  • What does the image say to you?
  • Where is it? [if the image is of a generic London cat DON'T add 'London' as one of your keywords]
  • What color is it? [Try to describe only the prominant colors in the image, don't list every shade of green.]
  • Why is it this way?
  • What is in the foreground & what is the biggest element?
  • Why would someone want to download/view this image?

On top of that use available tools like Thesaurus.com.
Enjoy, and have fun!
